An other application for the iPhone. If you don’t like a message, when it arrive, blow it away! But if you are wrong, don’t worry! The message won’t be delete, but it’s going to go in a temporary folder where you can delete or restore it.

Io, Barbara Carcangiu e Marcello Ricco abbiamo progettato una seduta ispirata ai frattali, che hanno una forma sempre uguale che si ripete allo stesso modo in scala differente. L’abbiamo chiamata Zù, che in antico cinese significa famiglia, specie, tribù, razza. Questo perchè la nostra seduta è formata da sette moduli uguali fra loro ma di dimensione differente. Ognuno di loro può essere estratto del tutto e usato separatamente o estratto rimanendo legato agli altri.

Ha diversi utilizzi: può essere usato come gioco, come una sorta di divano, per poter far raggiungere la stessa altezza ad un bambino ed un adulto, e ci si può sedere in diversi modi.

Abbiamo pensato di crearla in plastica o in legno piegato a vapore.

With the prof. Isao Hosoe we made a project for a seat based on a new philosophy: the Neomadic. Neomadic culture is a new nomadism, it will develop in the future rooting in the past.

I created, with Barbara Carcangiu and Marcello Ricco, a seat inspired by fractals. Its name is Zù, an old chinese word that means family, tribe, race, specie(?), because our chair have seven moduls with the same shape but a different dimension. Each piece can be used alone or with the others.

It can be used like a game, like a sofà, for children, for a diffent way of sit.

We chose plastic or wood.

Nella seconda parte abbiamo progettato un logotipo per la città di Alghero a seconda del tema che per noi era importante rapprensentare. Io ho pensato di voler evidenziare la qualità dell’acqua del mare della città, limpida, pulita e cristallina. Ho fatto uno studio sul comportamento degli oggetti galleggianti e sott’acqua, per poter realizzare il logo.

For the graphic course we did two projects. In the first part, we studied the alphabet of an old inscription. We used the frottage tecnic for taking the letters in the inscription and after a study, we have written the others, too.

In the second part we created a logotype for Alghero, based on the theme that was important for us. I have chosen the quality of the water, clean and limpida, cristallina.

Io e Valentina Scampuddu abbiamo progettato l’illuminazione di un locale commerciale. Nel nostro caso abbiamo scelto di illuminare una sala da tè e chiamarla Cha no yu, nome giapponese della cerimonia del tè. Un punto d’incontro in stile liberty dove rilassarsi con la possibilità di sorseggiare vari tipi della seconda bevanda più bevuta al mondo provienenti da tutto il mondo. Con un piccolo angolo vendita per poter ripetere il piacere anche a casa.

I have made a project about the lighting design of a commercial space with Valentina Scampuddu.

We have chosen a tea room, Cha no yu, the japanese name of the tea Ceremony. A relaxing meeting point in modern style where you can test a lot of kinds of tea from all the world. With a little shop to take the pleasure at home, too.

L’interaction design si occupa del rapporto uomo-macchina. Infatti, la macchina non deve solo funzionare, ma anche essere facile da usare da parte dell’utente. Se funziona benissimo, ma il fruitore non riesce ad usarla, non serve, perché è importante che sia istintiva. L’interaction design si occupa proprio di rendere l’interfaccia chiara e limpida. Infatti è necessario capire i bisogni dell’utente, che sono molto importanti per la resa della macchina. Per cui bisogna conoscere il target a cui è riservato il prodotto e l’uso che ne verrà fatto. Bisogna cercare di immedesimarsi nell’acquirente per capire la sua reazione davanti al prodotto. Non sempre si riesce a prevedere i pensieri dell’utente, per cui è meglio far provare il proprio prodotto al pubblico, per vedere se risponde davvero a ciò che si richiede. Questo già in fase di progettazione, in modo da poter migliorare la macchina o il servizio in questione.

Interaction design deals with the relationship between man and machine. In fact, the tecnology has not only to work, but it should be easy to use for the user. If the machine works perfectly, but the customer can’t use it, it doesn’t achive its purpose, because it’s important that it’s intuitive. Interaction design is about this, to make the interface clear and simple. It’s necessary to understand the users’ needs which are important for the output of machine. So you need to know the target to which the product is addressed and the usage it will have. It’s important to take the point of view of the costumer to understand what will be his reaction toward of the product. Not always is possible to forcast the user’s though, so it’s better to test your product with the public, to see if it’s suitable for his aim. This already in the designing process, to improve the machine or the service.

All’inizio ci siamo dovuti occupare del problema di modificare un oggetto già esistente e già praticamente “perfetto”. Il mio gruppo ha pensato di inventare un nuovo tipo di forchetta. Io ho pensato ad una forchetta col manico ergonomico per insegnare ai bambini a tenerla nel modo corretto.

During the Service Design class with Yaniv Steiner we deal with Interaction Design. We had been divided in work groups and my group was Basamimami.

At first, we dealed with the problem of modifying an existent and perfect object. My group worked to a new fork. I worked to a ergonomic fork, for teaching the children how using it.

Nella seconda parte del lavoro il prof steiner ci ha presentato un videogioco per pc, Frets on Fire, una sorta di fratello di Guitar Hero, ma gratuitamente scaricabile da internet e con la possibilità di inserire le canzoni preferite. L’unico problema di questo gioco era il fatto che si dovesse usare la tastiera prendendola come una chitarra. Infatti non era bello dal punto di vista estetico ed era anche scomodo. Per cui dovevamo inventare  un nuovo joystick che desse l’impressione di fare air guitar (ovvero far finta di suonare la chitarra). Col mio gruppo, Basamimami, abbiamo creato un joystick dalla forma semplice, essenziale ed elegante. Chill-oh, di forma cilindrica, comodo da tenere in mano e facile da usare.

Io per questo progetto mi sono occupata principalmente di procurare i materiali necessari e di scrivere il libretto delle istruzioni.

In the second part of the work, Yaniv Steiner showed a pc videogame, Frets on Fire, similar to Guitar Hero, freeware from internet with the possibility to insert favourites songs. The issue of this game was the use of keyboard like a guitar. It’s ugly and uncomfortable. We had to invent a new controller similar to air guitar. My group, Basamimami, invented a controller simple, essential, elegant in shape. Chill-oh, cylindric in shape, comfortable and easy to use.

My first occupation was to find the materials and write the instructions of the object.

The last part of the job with Yaniv Steiner was regarding the creation of a videogame for pc for the use of the wii controller. It was possible by a bluetooth connection. Me and my group had planned a videogame, called Slave Slapping, setted in the old Egypt, where a slave’s master whipped the slaves. When he does it, the slaves go on with a stone block. It’s a videogame for unwind and for let off steam ourselves. We don’t like the slavery, so I had made a suggestion to the group: to put our faces to the slaves.
